Your new squirrel boss bird feeder is shipped with the “false roof” installed. (See Figure 1)

It is “very important” to charge the “solar powered roof” overnight (9 hours) before use. (See Figure 2)

Charge the roof using the a/c charger included. Never use other chargers. (See Figure 5) It is recommended that you hang the new feeder using the “false roof” during the “charging process“. !! Warning !!
Do Not rapidly switch the “solar powered roof” ON – OFF – ON this could result in damage to the roof. Wait 5 seconds between switching ON – OFF – ON. Be sure that the “switch” on the “solar powered roof” is in the “OFF” position before handling it. (See Figure 2)
The green light “should not” be illuminated in the “OFF” position.
Always switch the roof to the “OFF” position whenever you handle it.
Example:
1. Refilling the feed tube (See Figure 3)
2. Charging the roof
3. Before ever touching the feed tube
4. Cleaning

Directions:
When charging is complete remove the “false roof” by turning it “counter clockwise” while holding the feed tube. You will feel it click. Install the “solar powered roof” by aligning the slot and turning it “clock wise“. You will feel it click. For best results, hang the Squirrel Boss Bird Feeder in an area with DIRECT SUNLIGHT onto the “solar powered roof“.

Operate the Squirrel Boss Bird Feeder by pressing the remote control while a squirrel is on the feed tube. (See Figure 4)

It is O/K if you do not have direct sunlight. You may have to “repeat the charging process” after several days.

To check the “solar powered roof “, bring the remote control to the feeder, press the remote control and hold the button down for three seconds. If the red light on the solar powered roof “does not” blink, the roof is good for another full day. Repeat this test whenever you think that the roof has lost its charge due to a lack of direct sunlight.

!! Important !!
If neither the green light nor the red light comes on with the switch in the “ON” position, please “DO NOT” return the product to the retailer. This only means that you need to repeat the “charging process“.

The roof is only water proof when it is hanging from its chain in the upright position.

Never expose the roof to the elements while it is upside down.

Never press the remote control when a person is touching the squirrel boss bird feeder.

Never use any part of the squirrel boss bird feeder in a way that does not conform with these instructions.

Do not expose the remote control to the elements.

Do not let children operate the squirrel boss bird feeder without adult supervision.

Always install the remote control hanger out of reach of children.

Please make a note of the letter on the back of the remote control in case it is lost.

Please keep the “solar panel” clean using soap and water on a damp cloth.

“DO NOT” submerge the roof in water or chemicals to clean it. Use a damp cloth.
